Senior Strategist

Ghost Note is a cross-cultural studio building brands and uncovering stories that channel the beauty and complexity of the modern, diverse world. While our roots are in DC, our team is fully remote and extends from DC to Los Angeles, NYC, and Central America. From inception, Ghost Note was purpose-built to represent and honor the intricacies of contemporary diverse audiences. For more than 10 years, we've guided story-driven brands to deeper, measurable connections with the communities we come from. Some of these clients include Nike, Apple, The Obama Foundation, Hyatt, The Smithsonian Institution, Grammarly, Meta, Anheuser-Busch, and Paramount. 

The Role

Ghost Note is seeking a highly talented Senior Strategist to lead the development and execution of brand, digital, campaign, and storytelling work on behalf of priority clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of brand, digital, and campaign strategies, story/production concepts, and narratives that guide the agency’s support of various client deliverables - including, but not limited to, brand positioning, marketing campaigns, content ideation, and digital strategies
  • Bring and integrate experience with and deep knowledge of community-oriented strategic philosophies and theories
  • Serve as lead strategic voice and agency representative for priority clients
  • Consult with clients on a range of strategic brand and storytelling initiatives, including discovery, branding, content, social media strategy, experiential and campaign strategy
  • Shape and lead presentations that effectively articulate, document, and convey the strategy and its underlying logic—both internally and with our client partners
  • Establish a presence and develop rapport with the client as a subject-matter expert and advisor, acquire a true understanding of the needs of the client/assignment and act as lead liaison between the client and project team during strategy phases, should challenges or deviations to strategy or vision arise
  • Maintain a pulse on trends in advertising, social justice, politics, technology, sport, music, entertainment, lifestyle, art, and culture
  • Adopt and deepen the philosophies and approaches that guide the work of the department
  • Support departmental strategy and work with CEO to ensure seamless implementation across team
 

Qualifications

You have at least 5+ years of relevant professional experience. You thrive on working with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, highly creative environment. Specifically:
  • You are a curious and willing emerging thought leader in the field.
  • You’re a brand builder and storyteller that excels at crafting strategy, creative, and stories for large and emerging brands and institutions.
  • You are action-oriented and know how to use data and past experiences to make informed decisions about approaches to work.
  • You possess excellent writing skills and hold a high standard for the written word.
  • Whether with start-ups or Fortune 100s, you are adept at engaging with senior level clients and their teams to realize ambitious outcomes.
  • You have a contemporary understanding of the evolving role of brands and what it means to build brands in the modern diverse and digital age.
  • You thrive on continually innovating and modernizing brand thinking, approaches, and tools to get to the best outcome.
  • You’re skilled in or have the ambition to learn co-creation processes, and believe that working in true partnership with clients and their teams leads to the best outcomes.
 

The Nitty Gritty

  • Currently (and for the foreseeable future) this is a remote position
  • Please note that candidates must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Salary for this role is $90,000, negotiable commensurate with experience
